hi there, i'm a logic newbie switching from pro tools, and i have a big question: you know how in PT there is the whole "virtual track" method of comping? what is the analogous process in Logic Pro 7?

also, if any of you are logic gurus, i'd love an email address to ask the occasional question!

    Home Page:
Logic has 255 audio tracks available if you machine can handle it, just use another track.

Once you have tracks you can never go back!

The confusion here is understandable because Logic has a different way of dealing with Tracks. In PT you have the playlist function and each new playlist belongs to the same track. a track in Logic on the other hand plays through a specific Channel in the Environment. Therefore you can create as many tracks as you want on the arrange page and assign them to the same Channel (you can do that from the parameters box of each track , and voila record as many takes as you want and edit as you would in PT.
So, same concept. just that Logic makes a destinction between track and channel which ends up confusing people when they start using logic. once you grasp that basic idea it gets easier (until you start messing around in the environment that is!)
I hope i could be of help, if i confused you even further i apologise! if you have any other questions let me know.
