Hi, I'm a REAL amateur when in comes to home recording (and computers come to think of it), hence all I have is a BossBR-864 8-track and a microphone (along with guitars drums etc etc). Basically I'm having a problem deciphering the manual, and have ended up with 2 complete songs of 6/7 tracks that I'm not able to export off the machine with mysteriously losing random tracks. The only song I managed to export in it's entirety was the demo song that came with the blasted thing. I understand it's a pretty specific request, but if someone, ANYONE could help me I'd be eternally grateful. My e-mail is, but I check here infrequently so that's fine too. Please, please, please, I'm begging you!!!!

Well, I am having my own difficulties with using my new BR-864 but I think I know the answer to your question. First, are you exporting to a computer? Second and if so, is it a PC or a Mac? If it's a PC, you need the USB cable and a USB connection on your PC. Once connected, press the USB button by the time/value dial. Then follow the onscreen instructions/questions until it has finished backing up the song. Then find the Roland file. I found mine in the My Computer file even though the instructions say it will end up on your desk top. Then drag the file into a file on you computer.

You can also save the individual tracks as wav files. The instructions in the manual are rather simple. You just have to have enough memory left on your memory card to create the wav files.

Do you have a clue as to how to incorporate drum sounds into your songs and to set the tempo for each part of the song? That is my dilemma right now.

I've only been through one recording with the BR 864. Regarding Rev Rosco's question. The drum tracks are not imported into the song until they are recorded. Hope that helps.

I have a question, too. I've recorded drum arrangements S01 through S05 and can't remember how to link them into a song. Any ideas?-robertc
