Hey all, trying to learn how to get my album info, Artist, track titles, cover art, etc., to show up in windows media player/itunes etc.? Is there a software I need for this?

    Thanks for all info,

You mean for the CDs you produce? If so, I'm not sure about album art, but if you put in the CD and the ID service fails to find it, you can enter the info manually. The ID services generally then pick that info up and add it to their database. This is how they get free labor to input CD info.

If someone else plays your CD, they should get the info you entered.

Thinks for the response, and yes I am referring to the CDs I produce. As far as the cover art, I'm referring to the captions in Windows Media when the album is pulled up.

So if I understand this correctly, when the tracks are pulled in I can manually input the info? If so, and not to be elementary, how? I've never done this.

I believe this is where Windows Media Player pulls its info from:

Why isn't my favorite indie album listed on the allmusic?
If an artist or album is missing, it's not on purpose-- we just have not received the release or artist information necessary to add the artist or album into the database yet. If you would like to see your favorite up-and-coming artist added to, try to contact them through their fan or label sites, and have them send us a CD, along with promotional and biographical information to:

What you're looking for is... (gracenote) and

I think WMP uses its own database (probably based on one of the ones I just mentioned).

It's NOT related to CD-Text - which is permanently embedded into the TOC of the disc (personally, I wish everything would just simply read CD-Text).

i use a program called CDex (freeware). you can download it here:

    Line 6 Manuals

this will upload the info you input to cddb & freedb, though i'm not sure how long it take to be updated. it also is an excellent program for ripping wave & MP3 files from CDs.

Ok certainly with MP3's you can emmbed image data into the file using WMP (The image stays with the MP3 from PC to PC)
As for CD tracks i'm not so sure....
