lightpipe to firewire?

This may be stupid, but i'm rather new to all this. (a completely original opening line for a first question though you must admit)
Anyway, i need to know if there is a piece of hardware to run lightpipe into from a Radar or Nuendo, and convert it to firewire for my iBook?

Details: the band i'm in is getting some free time in a studio to track drums, they have no pro tools, all i have is an MBox and the iBook, i am thinking of buying Nuendo and some form of firewire breakout box, but the studio time is this week and i just want to get the drum tracks onto my firewire drive for now and they have no macs either.
I would really appreciate any advice or help at all.
    Thank you

:) If all else fails, can they burn you waves on disk, or even CD, then just line up the tracks in your mac? Even if there are 8 seperate tracks of drums, they could place each on a seperate CD track.
    Just a suggestion,

So i guess this means there is no converter or junction box to go from lightpipe to firewire to connect a mixer to the iBook either?
Sorry for the persistent stupidity, and thanks again for taking the time.

The closest thing would be something like a Presonus Firestation or a MOTU 828, which will give you a lot more than just a Lightpipe connection...but they'll likely be much more useful in the long run.

:) Right now I am looking into the apogee big ben clock, check on this stand alone unit. You will always have a use for this if it works out. Some of what I found out so far...

With an eye toward future connectivity standards, Big Ben has room to grow with a Firewire card option that will provide clocking and format conversion functionality to Firewire equipped services.

Big Ben gives you the option of real-time format conversion. Use Big Ben's intuitive digital display to go from S/PDIF to AES, AES to ADAT, ADAT to S/PDIF, etc."

Just something else to look at,

Thanks for all the help i've looked at all the devices and am trying to decide which way to go.
I have been using Pro Tools LE with an MBox, but need more inputs and i don't know whether i should go Digi 002 rack or the Presonus Firestation with Nuendo, if i do switch is there a better way to move profects than OMF? Everytime i use it it's all screwy. Maybe i should post a new topic, since this is off the lightpipe yop firewire subject, sorry. The bands homepage
