I have yet to read a review on these new mixers, just wondering if they live up to the often misleading Mackie marketing hype? The look good, the price is right, and it's been years coming for a new design. Looking at the A&H MixWizard but willing to give the Onyx a shot, still too fresh on the market I guess...?

The Jury is still out ... no one has had a chance to hear the ONYX yet ... It seems funny that if it really sounds so good, why hasn't Mackie gotton some into the hands / ears of reviewers to run through the paces? At the price point, I am not holdig out a lot of hope that it's going to be that good..

    True dat.
With such a budget for promotion (just about every magazine has a full page Onyx ad) and a highly anticipated arrival, it is odd indeed that the buzz is non-existant. Maybe I'll just get that Soundcraft Spirit M12 and call it a day. Mostly just for monitoring/tracking anyway....

Mgazines like EM, keyboard, etc run 3 month behind, so whatever they write about in September doesn't make it until the December issue- I suspect we'll start seing reviews in November or December- you'd think they should get units over to the e-mags and forums such as this one for earlier reviews-
