mic check

    ok i bought a m-audio mobliepre usb interface

    i have it hooked up to a mxl 990 mic.

    when i recored i have it on channel one it only records on one side.
    same with channel two.

    either its all on the right or the left

    is this normal or not.
    how can i fix this

    Willing to bet that you're recording onto a stereo track.

    IF this is the case, if you use input left, it will only record to the left stereo track.

    To solve this, record mono.

    If you wanna record stereo, you need two mics in :D

    If you're using software such as Adobe Audition, Sony's Vegas, etc., the software, not the interface, commands mono or stereo recording. You have to know your software well enough to be able to manipulate it competently. Sometimes it is a long learning curve depending on the complexity of the software involved? It's not all cut and dry much less intuitive. Check your help file within your software of choice.
