I am in Northeast Florida and have a boatload of mics and processing gear that I must sell. I would rather deal with someone in my region than to ship this stuff out, so maybe there are some interested parties near me who I can deal with. Time is of the essence due to health issues that have recently come up. After 30+ years of recording, Moonbaby has to retire everything. Here is a sample of what needs to go:
    AEA R92 $600 .................................... Presonus ADL600 tube preamp $900
    AKG C-414XLS $600 ............................. Focusrite ISA 430 (UK built) $800
    Beyer M160 $450.....................................Universal Audio Solo 610 $600
    Heil PR-35 $225 ......................................Grace M101 $400
    Heil PR-40 $250.......................................Valley People Dyna-Mite (2-ch) $500
    Neumann KM-185 $500............................Valley People 610 dynamics $400
    Shure KSM32 $350....................................McIntosh 5100 amp/preamp $500
    E/V RE-20/w. shock $450.........................Allen& Heath GL-2 (UK built) $500
    Sennheiser MD441u $450..........................Rode NT-5 (pr) $250
    PAIR of A-T 4050's $500/pr......................Shure KSM32 $350
    CAD E100s USA model $300.....................Shure SM81 (I have 4 total) $200 per PAIR
    1965 Valco Supro 1624T $1200..................1964 Fender Princeton Amp $1200
1964 Fender Vibro-Champ $600................plus various DBX and Drawmer comps, Lexicon DSP
    Yamaha RM2408 8-buss desk $300
    Many more...
    Please contact me at :
    moonbaby55@bellsouth.net
I can send photos and a pdf of all the gear for sale. Thank you for your interest...Jim Mooney, aka moonbaby

    Hard times for sure...
Hope it goes well for you.

If those were canadian dollar prices I would have jumped on a few things.
30% of dollar exchange 8% of custom fees and 15% of taxes has killed my US purchased for a while.. :(

Thanks to all of you, this is going to be yet another medical hurdle for me. Hawk has responded to this very nicely, and I really appreciated that. I kept the gear for as long as I could, pulling it out occasionally to do special projects, but no more. I have a very supportive family and staff at my day gig.
I have one caveat to all: I gave up tobacco 20 years ago and thought that I was clear. I was not. And clove cigarettes are the worst thing to put into your lungs, even though they smell sweet.

I know I'm in the UK, and a long way away, but thought I'd say as we Brits do - keep your chin up! From personal experience with a good friend, I'd suggest that the gear really doesn't matter. It's given you great pleasure and even if not being used, it's loss will be an additional pain you don't need. It might not appear to matter, but to anyone else, it's just equipment, to you, it's history. Sincere best wishes from this side of the water, Jim.

Thanks for the support I'm keeping some sentimental things, but the vast majority is being sold to cover medical expenses.
Bos, thanks for your kind words as well. You and I go back more than 10 years here at RO, you have always offered sage technical- and practical-advice. Take care.

it sucks that in the wealthiest nation in the world someone would have to sell their possessions due to a catastrophic illness. getting sick is bad enough and it sucks having it create financial pressures when you should be concentrating on beating your disease.

i'm sure i speak for all who frequent these pages in saying our prayers are with you. perhaps after the upcoming election Congress will have some people in it that will address the issue and we will finally join the rest of the industrialized world and provide universal health care. it is immoral imo to profit from pain and suffering.

I haven't heard from him since May. I sincerely hope it isn't the case, but my fear is his condition has deteriorated.

Here in the UK, we complain about our health care system - we constantly complain that it's broken, going bust, useless and unfair, but the truth is that while it will NOT any longer fund things like cleaning out ear wax, or removing skin tags, it WILL fund chemotherapy for people that costs over £1000 a dose, it does fund heart and other organ transplants and cutting edge operations and therapies for those with clinical need. Money is never mentioned at the point of treatment. My sister has moved to France, like us (at the moment) in the EU and she has to pay for her treatment there, and can re-claim a proportion. I feel for the folk in the US who seem to us outsiders as needing money to keep well.

It's possible our friend is doing OK and making progress but just unable to come on here - I hope this is the case. I hope we find out at some point. I wish him all the best.

I’ve lived in Aus, NZ, USA and of course here in the UK. By far the best system, here in the UK. I personally saw the toll of the money grubbing American systems. Friends of ours will be in debt for life for a heart attack.

I’m so saddened by this ... any time a musical brother we know is seriously ill, I think we all feel it.
I don’t know what to suggest in terms of trying to contact him; presumably he would get email notifications from those posting here on RO about him.
    While that doesn’t prove anything,
we haven’t heard from him here in a while - I can’t help but share Dave’s (@dvdhawk ) fears that he took a turn for the worst. I don’t want to be cryptic, and I HATE saying what I’m about to say, but I think we all know how sick he was, and it does bring up the very real possibility that he has passed.
Does anyone know Moon’s full name?, and what city he lives in? It might help in finding out; the reason is that if he did pass away, and if we knew, we could at least send collective condolences from his RO family to his real family. :(

Yes, on all of those things. Name, city, email, cell#.

Last time I talked to him in May he only had internet access at work, but he may not be working any more. And out of concern, I have checked a couple times since then to see if there has been an obit listed from his area. I haven't seen anything- for whatever that's worth.

In any case, a sad turn of events for one of the good guys.

Moonbaby's name and email address are at the bottom of his opening post in this thread. My recollection is that he lives in Jacksonville, FL.

I know I had an RO conversation with him a year or two back, but I couldn't find any trace of it when I looked just now.
