    Hi all,

just need help in constructing a simple recording sheet or if anyone knows where to obtain a free one, please let me know.

Basically I am trying to draw up a music recording sheet and need to know what typical/basic info I should have...

What I have in mind was:

    1. Song title
    2. Key of the song
    3. Musicians & Singers name
    4. Date

Anything else i have missed out?

in the old days they would also have what parts are recorded on which tracks and any effects used if that's what you mean...

I think what you are wanting is a track sheet of sorts... the one i use is essentially in calendar form with some space for additional important information at the top.

    What I do is:

    1) use the "blocks" for individual track information. which i use to document: instrument on that track, mic. used on the instrument, preamp, and dynamic tools used on the instrument... i also have a seperate sheet i use to document mic placement, and settings on pre's and dynamics, ect.

    2) create "spaces" at the top for artist name, song title, project code, date, sample rate, bit rate, drive #, key of the song, ect, ect, ect.

    3) at the bottom allocate some space for "notes"

just my 2cents, hope it helps.
