A Sound Blaster card can be marginally adequate if you only use the line inputs. If you are looking for a slightly better and affordable sound card? Look into the Yamaha's. If it is microphone inputs you are looking for? Although many sound cards offer them like the "M- audio". I just recommend inexpensive outboard microphone preamplifiers with line input sound cards. If you to choose to purchase the "M- audio" cards, they have been purchased by Digidesign and may allow you to run ProTools if you are so inclined to use that software? Many people are enjoying the relatively new MOTU FireWire based sound cards that offer 4 balanced microphone inputs. If you are running a desktop or laptop and have a fire wire IEEE 1394 input, this may be the way for you to go but they're not exactly inexpensive.

    Make some tracks!
