Is there a good Samaritan out there who might be willing to help me explain the basics of home recording to aspiring dobro/Weissenborn guitarists on the discussion board of my web site?

Here's the scoop: I recently launched a discussion board on my web site http:// which is geared toward aspiring dobro/Weissenborn guitarists. I am finding out that many folks are interested in home recording but are at the "jumping off" phase and don't know a USB port from a AD/DA converter.

The discussion board http:// includes a section on home recording. I don't have enough knowledge or background to explain this stuff, but I am hoping some generous soul would be willing to explain the very basics - what basic components/equipment you need to get started with home recording.

Should anyone by willing/able to help I would be most appreciative!

    Best regards,
    RobA

Without a doubt anyone interested in recording will need more than just a thread or two. Feel free to point them here RobA

Indeed! Do YOUR forum on what YOU do best! Refer your members to OTHER forums, for information on what THEY do best...

    No sense re-inventing the wheel.

Not only is this site a wonderful source of knowledge, but if you go to tweakheadz.com and read tweak's guide that will help a lot. It's pages of step by step instructions, he even put some example recording packages together and explains how to hook everything up. Otherwise this site and the search function can be your best friends.
