The New AT5047 Premier Studio Microphone
Anyone know where to pick up a shockmount for a U57? Will one for a U47 fit it?
There are probably cheaper alternatives, but BLUE makes a great shockmount fitted for the UM57. The U47 is much bigger around the middle, so a shockmount made for a U47 won't do it.
Akk, $300 for a shockmount is too much. I'm thinking like, $150? Any other reccomendations?
Check out the universal shockmount at http://www.musiciansadvocate.com or call Brad from the number listed on the website. I bought a fancy spider mount and received one of these universal mounts for free with an order and it beats the crap out of the fancy spider mount. It is very simple in design and not much to look at, but it works great for tube style mics.
I enjoyed that mic on an AC30 combo ages ago.. How are you using it?
This is my SPA 1.5 modded mic. It sounds amazing. I'm using it for vocals. Well, I will be, as soon as a find a shockmount. I can't hold the thing and sing into it. Doing that with this mic is so obscenely wrong.
You should check out the shockmount that AT sells with their 4050. I think it would be the right size and it's probably less than $100. I think it is part #AT8441. Just an idea... :w:
Hmm, my friend has that mic. That would be so ^#$%ing cool if it worked. Lemme check it out.
