looking to record more room mic ambiance. not looking for brands, or models, just looking for type, such as dynamic, ld condenser, sd condenser, ribbon, omni, cardioid, fig eight?

i've used some cardioid sd and ld condensers in stereo, and have used a single ld cardioid condenser as a room mic recently that came out amazing. but i want to get more into doing stereo room micing, to bring out more of a wider stereo field of the kit, i'm trying to really do more "room" sounding drums lately, (been in an indie rock mindset lately, hah).

i've got a small room, which isn't the "best" sounding drum room, yet i've got great results from my studio kit for alt/christian rock band recently that sounded just amazing with the one room mic.

If your room isn't the best sounding then why do you want more room?

Probably because God put it there Jack?

Room mics, yeah, lousy acoustics, small diaphragm Omni-directional condenser thingies. Good acoustics, large diaphragm.
