OK...I've got it narrowed down to two...

  1. Cubase SX vs. Samplitude Producer 6.0

Which one do you like and why? I know Cubase SX has much better midi options (but i'm not sure how often i'd use them...) and Samplitude Producer 6 comes included with the Fireface 800 (the audio interface i'll be using)...so basically my question is this...when I'm going to have Samplitude Producer 6.0 in my rig no matter what...is Cubase SX worth the extra cash?

id say NO. you ought to spend the extra money on good mics or pre's instead of the SX. Why buy something extra in which you might never use?

I'd have to agree. I love my Cubase, but software is not nealrly as important as things like acoustics, monitoring, mics, pres (in that order).
