Im going to be inheriting a Powerbook G4, with a 1.3gig processor and 768 megs of ram. I plan on getting the M Box 2 with Protools 7, and also using BFD drum software, should this computer be able to handle my recording needs? any suggestions?

    thanks

As long as you don't need lots of tracks and/or fx simultaneously.

G4 powerbooks usually only run a 4200 rpm hdd, if you add a firewire or usb 2.0 external drive for the audio files and let the o/s and p/t run from the internal drive you will get better performance.

p/t mbox is not necessarily the best choice for a daw either, unless you are familiar with it or want to use it because you are familiar/wish to do stuff with PT HD you might want to take a look at MOTU Digital Performer 5 or Logic Pro 7.

Be sure to look over the compatibility documents at Digidesign.com. Some PowerBook G4 models do not work with the Mbox 2.

More Ram and 7200rpm firewire drive, should get you going.

It's a newer Powerbook don't think you will have compatibility problems.
