I will be using my powerbook to record. I will be using pro-tools to do this. My school will have the mixing boards, mics etc. What else do i need on my powerbook to complete this? Sorry if its not clear enough, im totally new to this stuff

If you are supposed to be doing this with your school, doesn't your school give you a list of what you need to interface with their stuff?

then u would consider buying some of those equipment that u see in ur school just for ur private experience and knowing the interface.

you'll need an interface. without one how are you planning to get the tracks in your powerbook? see what your school uses, probably some motu stuff like an 828 mkii or a 2408 mkiii or a 896...
