Planning to start recording rap and R&B vocals.

I have access to ANY software that I may need.

However, I need HARDWARE. Wondering what I should get...maybe a bundle?

    Budget of <$300

So with a $300 budget, you need a Shure SM58, $100. For $200 you can purchase a decent USB or FireWire interface. Too many to choose from in that price range. Go for the features you want. I.e. 24-bit, 88.2kHz sampling, 96kHz sampling. Frankly, I'm still recording 16-bit at 44.1. Sounds perfectly fine to me when used properly. For $200, you could probably land a TAPCO or, numerous others. And it will come bundled with something like CubaseLE. You'll still need a pair of headphones and I hope your stereo speakers sound good? If not? You may need a small pair of self powered monitors like KRK's?

Big things can happen with small budgets.
