Setting up an Audio Interface with a Mixer?

  1. Now i have a Behringer 1622fx mixer but i hear i need an interface for even better quality?!?!What one shall i buy and how do i set it up? i must add im only recording vocals if that makes any difference
    please and thanks

    The Behringer is an interface and mixer in one. Adding an interface to it isn't going to make any improvement unless you spend a fair bit more and replace the Behringer entirely.

    A mic will have more effect on your sound than your preamps or interface. What microphones are you using now?

    You don't need a mixer at all if you are only recording vocals. Change out the Beh##### for something else like the TC Electronics Impact Twin. Normally I would agree with Boulder on choosing the proper mic but the noise and brittleness of the B gear overrides that IMO.
