Waves R vs Protools dsp plugs

    Im in the studio with an acoustic demo and they say the Protools plugs are better than Waves ,
    My first impression is that the protools plugs sounds abit colder than Waves R comp
    Whats your opinion?

    I agree with you! The PT plugs aren't bad, but the Waves are really nice.
    I could get my mixes to 90% of where I wanted them with PT, the Waves Renaissance allowed me another 4-5% of warmth, color, finished edges, etc...
    To me it was worth it.

    IMHO, pro tools plugins are almost crap (apart Dverb), Waves are not musical, they sound like plastic. You need other stuff to have a gorgeous sound, like Sony, McDsp, AU.
