What DAW Software? Hmm...

  1. I am new this whole thing and I am in the process of setting up my home recording studio right now. The only thing I need now is a good DAW software... I have looked into two so far: MixCraft 4.2 and REAPER... In my opinion, REAPER sounds like more "bang for the buck" but I am just wondering; what would anybody recommend? Weather it be MixCraft, REAPER, or another.

From other folks posts, if you want a full featured DAW I would skip MixCraft. Reaper is a very monetary conscious way to start and many folks like it. Other options are things such as Mackie Tracktion which can be found NIB on eBait for $99-150 regularly. There are many other full featured and capable DAWs but these two are good and nice introductions though the user interface (UI) is vastly different between them.
  3. Alright, I'll look into it. Thanks!
