anyone having problems with windows 7 and pro tools ?? im finding i cant work for more than 6 or so minutes before it gets to a point where i cant record or playback even the simpilist of tracks,,, i assume this is due to pro tools ot been up to date with windows 7 just yet,,,e.mailed avid support n they said they dont have a fully compatible version of pro tools with windows 7,,, anyone know when next update will be OR a way around it to make it work again properly?

8.01? That's the latest stable update. I find I still have to fudge the playback engine. Just change the CPU settings to use only 1 core, apply, then set it back to use all 4 cores. After that it seems to be ok. PT8 has been a headache for sure. So many nice features to it though.

Haven't had any problems at all with W7 and PT8. I'm glad I moved on from XP.

hmmmm maybe its something up with my laptop then,,,,must give it a kick or something ha,,,

maybe reinstall programmes or something, 8.o.1 still isnt a windows 7 update as avid told me,,,,,,any rumors on pt9 in the making??

hopefully i get pro tools back on track again, think ill ust have to delete it and re install from last working version of pt8

Is it strictly a recording laptop? Reformat and reinstall!
