I am not a believer in a lot of audiophile tweaks but I just found something that is pretty amazing. I put these under my ALON I vs. Isolate It: Sorbothane Vibration Isolation Circular Pad 50 Duro (.25" Thick 2.25" Dia.) - 8 Pack: Home Improvement and I thought it would make some improvement but it was more than just a little improvement. The sound stage is much bigger, the depth is greater. The mids and the highs have more focus and the overall sound is much improved. The bass is tighter and the speakers seem to completely disappear. These don't cost that much and for what it did for my speakers it was well worth it. Honestly I was simply blown away by the difference in this simple tweak.
Currently my speakers sit on 7 inch thick piece of granite on top of the carpeting on top of a cement floor. With this addition there are now 1/4" X 2.5" Sorbothane disks between the granite and the speakers.

Years ago, I got some highly specialized rubber matting. It was designed to insulate, shock reduce and protect camera lenses, within close range of military ordnance explosives. It just looks like a blue 1/4 inch mat of rubber. But it ain't. I got to use some of it in my control room, in the truck. Made the biggest difference to my TA-SCAM DA-88's, the way I had them mounted, in the rack. Just the right kind of shock absorption those needed. Never put the stuff under my speakers though? I wonder if I have any more of that stuff? It had been in use at Aberdeen proving grounds LOL. So it could have been radioactive also? It didn't glow in the dark, thankfully. I have a pair on top of the console and also a pair hanging from the overhead, over bridge of the outboard stuff. This might be exactly what I need? I had thought about it but never did anything. Every five years or so on for the last 20+, I've made some sort of significant change, inside the existing control room. I just don't go through stuff as fast as Chris does LOL. I hang onto things for a while once I get used to them. I think it's called adaptation? Humans are supposed to be really good at that. I don't know?
