Unless I'm completely stupid, which is a distinct possibility, I didn't see a forum specifically for this sort of thing, so I'm sticking it here.

I've got a few vintage dynamic microphones that require a special four prong connection at the mic. I've got one such working cable. This cable boils down to an unbalanced quarter inch plug.

Now, I've got another vintage cable with the four prong end intact, but the other end has been cut off. I'm unsure of how to reattach a simple quarter inch because I have no idea what the four prongs are for and how they relate to the quarter inch jack.

I'm quite handy with a soldering iron, and won't have any problem actually connecting the bits together, but if anyone knows a thing or two about these apparently obsolete cables, I'd be happy to learn what you know.
