Has anyone ever used CBI cables (http://www.cbicables.com). A friend of mine who works in a music store swears by them and can get me a good deal on some. CBI uses Belden cable and Neutrik connectors. I've heard from people on this forum that Neutrik connectors are the best. What about Belden cable?

thanks,
Nick

All my cables on the road, and in the recording studio ( guitar and all recording gear)is CBI.
They are just great in sound and durability.
I won't lie, I did have TWO ends out of hundreds of cables that needed to be resoldered, but that's not bad. Very happy. Haven't had to buy any cables in 5 years.......SL

The differences are the insulators, conductors materials, the conductivity, the type of stranding, the number of strands in that weave, the shielding, the tinning, etc.

All of this effects the audio quality, RF rejection, and the cable's memory (does it coil easily and lay flat when uncoiled, or does it have permanent bends and kinks in it?). If your cables will be used outdoors, oxidation is an issue.
