Hi,
I am wanting to buy a pair of monitors for use at home in a small recording studio for electronic music, so far ive been using a pair of Alesis M1 Active MK2monitors, but they weren't mine and they had to be returned, now I'm wondering whether to buy the same pair of Alesis monitors or if paying an extra 100 £ for the 8020a speakers is going to give me better reference sound ?

Also the Genelecs are on offer for a couple of days so if I'm getting them itl have to be very soon.

Any help in choosing would be greatly appreciated

Daniel

Genelecs can sound pretty sweet. You will like them for electronic music. But some say that they do not make you work hard enough, and that the mixes don't translate as brilliantly as they should have.

There are too many variables, the biggest being your room's acoustic situation and the placement of them. Experiment with placement thoroughly to be fair.
