PreSonus Firestudio Project Firewire Audio Interface vs. Steinberg MR816X Firewire Audio Interface (1DSP)

Which should I get? And would i need anything else to record drums besides mics cables and stuff

The MR816X has a dsp chip. I don't know if this helps at all when you are mixing but it does allow you to add some effects while you're tracking without using up cpu power. I wouldn't necessarily call either of these pro. These are mid level market designed for home users. If I had to choose, I would probably go with the MR816X at this point. I have a Presonus unit and as much as it is functional and there really isn't anything wrong with it per se, the drivers are a bit flakey for 64 bit.
