Just curious what service you all use to receive tracks from your clients. I want something which makes it as simple for clients to send me their music for mastering on my site as opposed to telling them to go to Mega Upload or something like that and sending me the link. Got to be a better way so yep interested to hear your responses thanks.

Listening to playback right now. Man, just the mojo of the reels spinning gives the studio a better vibe. I need to start cutting my own masters to wax! I gotta say I do enjoy the freedom of no pitch correction.

How often do clients use your in-house instruments when they come in to lay down tracks.

I know its good business to have backups in case of the unforseeable. Do you have any stories good or bad about a time when you had to bust out the house instruments.

I'm trying to gather ideas for a marketing strategy. My studio is very new and not too well known in the area. I'd like to get some more talent through my doors, but I'm not sure the best way to go about it.

For example, do you think ads are effective, or mostly overlooked? Or is it more of a face-to-face transaction that usually creates awareness?

Cool idea but that info is here, not pointing to a place that is making money off all the links everywhere. If this was pointing to text instead of all the clickthroughs and google adsence I wouldn't have a problem with your link.

I dont reall know the engineer, and Ive never went to him before. Is it reasonable to ask him to listen to a mix this week? or is that something that you would already need a relationship with your ME for.
