I own RME Hammerfall 9652 (not the HDSP!) in my studio connected thru ADAT Lightpipe to MY8-AT cards in digital mixing desk Yamaha 02R96 (in my case 02R96 works as a Wordclock generator and AD/DA converter). How good are 02R96's converters?

I'd like to ask you if AD/DA converters in Yamaha 02R96 sound better/worse than ... Apogee Rosseta, Lynx, ...

Continuing in the usual trend of being the gearslut that I am, I am in the process of getting the following gear :-

Mic: Gefell M930 (actually rated a lot better than the Neumann TLM 103).

Pre: Great River MP-2NV (2 channel pre for mics and also Hi-z for guitars/bass)

Compressor: Focusrite Red 3 (2 channel mono/stereo compressor).

which AD converter do u prefer?
i recorded them in same situation except for AD converter
they are already calibrated correctly.

ok so i am thinking of getting a new ad converter. i am thinking of either the
Apogeerosetta 200 or
RME ADI-2
has anyone had experience with either of these?
which one is better in your opinion?

I'm getting a good preamp finally (either Avalon, Sebatron or Manley) and also considering getting a good compressor (Avalon or ?). I do still have cheap sound cards like Audiophile 192, Emu 1820m etc. Should I be worried about it? Should I be looking at a good/expensive interface too?

I got a hold of an Magneto Optical Disk Recorder (AKAI DD1000). It seems to be a very obsolete format and the machine actually doesn't seem to work. Someone told me that the A/D converters are pretty good, though.

How would you rate that A/D converters in the onyx and firewire rig..Is there that much of a difference in the quality of the firewire card for the onyx than the MOTU devices?

Could anyone tell me what is the sound quality of the converters on Mackie d8b console? I could get one cheap but it's not about the money.. I don't wanna get something with converters sounding much worse than a decent ouboard converter. I would buy RME 5692 card with 3 ADAT interfaces and use d8b as a mixer/converter going to either nuendo 2 or Cubase sx3.

So this is more of a poll than a question I assume. But lately, my RME converters have been acting funny (I think the clock may be going- or bad optical cabling...not sure yet) so I've just been using my DIGI002r.
