Upgrading my soundcard/interface - got advice?

Hi I'm currently using a Tascam US-122 into my laptop to record guitars & vocals via a Tech 21 Sansamp GT2 and a Shure SM57.

I'd like to upgrade my interface/soundcard and am looking for your thoughts. Bear in mind that as I'll be continuing to use a laptop so it must connect via firewire or USB rather than slotting into the motherboard.

Tascam US-122 interface trouble

My us-122 is all messed up right now. It started with the left side just not working one day and i haven't been able to figure out how to fix it or where to fix it. Now on top of that everytime i plug my condenser into the right side and turn the phantom power on it makes a fuzzy hum noise that is like -5 db. really bad!

Best portable interface for PC Laptop?

What's good? Just got a laptop I can use while traveling to work on mixes while on the go. Will be moving to an Ibook in the future, but right I'm on PC running Logic Platinum 5.5.1. Any suggestions on a GOOD interface, portable, as I travel a lot and would like to take in progress mixes with me to keep things moving.

Thanks

Comparable Interface to Aardvark Pro Q10 but smaller

I have a couple Aardvark Q10's that I am pretty happy with. For a different location I would like to set up another computer running Sonar with two inputs (just for overdubs.) What I would really like is a sound card with two XLR ins and mediocre built in pres in addition to two 1/4" inputs that I can plug a nicer Pre like my RNP into.

Audio interface recommendation?

Im looking for something used to record with. 24/96, maybe 6 inputs (dont
necessarily need XLR inputs) . With breakout box (maybe rack mounted) that
interfaces to PC via PCI card. I saw an Aardvark Q10 that seemed a good
choice but they are out of business now I guess.
(Its ok if a product is discontinued but I prefer to have company still

What audio interface with Lavry Blue?

I'm about to upgrade to Lavry Blue converters - currently using Frontier Designs Tango24 with Dakota interface card.

The digital I/O between Tango24 and Dakota is ADAT optical (lightpipe).

Digital I/O on the Lavry is AES/EBU.

Is there such a thing as an AES/EBU to ADAT optical converter? Or will I have to replace the Dakota with another audio interface?

Advice on audio interface for laptop

hello there,

looking to get an interface
which i can record bass guitar and turntables through onto an ibook G4. I hear that M-audio don't work well with Macs, Edirol make a couple of decent looking products but i've read some pretty unflattering things about them. Any ideas? I'm looking to keep the price below £300
