Mackie HR824's revisited
Well, you were all right.
By that I mean that the 824's, though nice sounding to track on, and usable to mix on, were funny sounding in the low end, which has made translation to other speakers a major hit and miss affair.

Mackie/Universal Audio UAD-1 Powered Plugins
Hi All,
I just wander if you have any experience with UAD-1 powered plugins card made by Univesal Audio and distributed by Mackie? I am mixing almost entirely (except that sometimes i reamp or use external reverb) in Logic Audio 5.10, and I'm a bit tired with the sound quality of software plugins. I heard that UAD-1 sounds really great.
Advice on live rec'ding band w Mackie 24 + ADAT
Hello all.
If anyone has any advice, I'd be most appreciative in advance.
I'll be recording a theatre performance, 4 singers and a band. All the instruments and singers will be miked and going through a Mackie SR 24x4 board.
Since I don't have much experience with live boards, these are my questions:
Tracking w/Mackie and Outboard Pre?
How ya doin? Been a while. Spent the last month in acquisition mode. Anyway back to the Mackie 1604 and tracking.
We had been having a discussion before about the limitations of the Mackie ie. wanting to record cmore sources than viable with 16 channels. So I'm wondering about the outboard pre scenario.
What if?

Mackie D8B
Well, I think it is time to ask the question...what is up with the D8B? Does anyone know what Mackie is doing to compete with Yamaha and the DM2000. Based on the type of marketing I have seen recently from Mackie it is reasonable to assume that the D8B is at the end of life. The never ending Mackie bonanza is the example for this.

Mackie D8B
Does anyone know what is happening at Mackie? Based on the type of marketing I have been seeing from them in the past few months eg, the never ending D8B Bonanza, it looks as if this product is about to meet its maker. Does anyone have any insde info on a new release from Mackie? Presumably the new release will be in drect competition with the new Yamaha DM2000 mixer.

Mackie d8b vs. . Yamaha 02R96
I am new in the market for a digital mixing board and was just about to buy a Mackie d8b (because a good friend has one and loves it) and then I recently found out about the Yamaha 02R96. I'm wondering if anyone has opinions one way or the other about these boards to help me choose what is the best product and how reliable it is. Thanks very much.

Mackie SDR 2496 / Alesis HD24
If anyone has experience with the Mackie SDR2496 and/or Alesis HD24, could you please let me know what you think of their sound quality? Also, is the device stable? Does it crash occasionally? If you've used both, which one do you like better? Any advice will be helpful and appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Mackie d8b plugins?
Can I use the VST plugins that come with Cubase in a Mackie d8b. How would I go about transferring them?
