Two piano duet. Micing question.
Next week I am going to be recording a two piano duet and I am wondering what the best way to do it is. I am sort of limited to mics and tracks so i need to get the best sound I can with 4 mics. What I had in mind was one omni mic on each of the pianos with a baffle separating them and possibly two room mics.

Omni mics for piano
Which small diaphragm omni mics would you suggest for classical piano recording? My price range $700, but at the moment I would prefer going lower. I would not mind getting second hand ones. So far I was looking into:
Oktava MK012 from Sound-Room
Superlux CMH8K
Akg C451 with CK2, or CK22
Akg Blueline with CK92

Micing Upright Pianos
In my new humble abode – which I won’t be moving into for a few weeks yet – there is a sweet-sounding Yamaha upright piano. For recording, I’ll be rolling it away from the half-height wall it's against, then propping open the top and placing 2 mics pointed down at the strings (the treble mic will be placed closer to the strings, at least at first).

Best Piano in a Can
I have a project going on right now where everything is going really great except we are using a keyboard for the piano sounds. They just dont hold up to the rest of the recording where everything is very natural sounding. Even some of the kookier synth sounds are blending very well.

Yamaha P250 piano
I just bought the P250 digital piano for my studio and I'm loving the sound. I do a lot of scoring work and was using the K2500 rack with their optional piano chip which is supposed to be their best piano sound and was growing abit tired of it's sound. I have always loved the sound of Yamaha grand pianos and the P250 is reported to be sampled from their top of the line concert grand.

Piano+Vocal recording
Ok, I've been asked by a friend of mine to record an album with her - nine songs with her, a piano, and perhaps an upright bass or saxophone occasionally.

Good digital piano
Hi, I'm looking for a good digital piano (starting out with piano lessons). I want it digital, because I want to connect it (MIDI) with my computer to do some recording or to play with virtual synths. My budget is around $1500.
Any suggestions?

Grand Piano... Might as well get one...
Hi all.
I will be involved in finding a used grand piano for a really nice newly buildt space in the year to come.
I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions concerning different makes and quality under the $10000 mark?
Any suggestions and sources of info welcome! :w:
Thanks.

Mics for recording grand piano
In the past I used a pair of AKG 414 EB mics to record piano. Interested in feedback re: other mics that would match up as well other than Neumann U87 ( too expensive )
