How can I control NI Traktor with Novation's ReMOTE SL mkII?

Can anyone help me please? What do I need to hook up my PC running Sonar to a remote studio and enable realtime live recording via broadband?

I own a small studio here in Mumbai(India), which mostly caters to clients interested in voice dubbings for various purposes. Recently I discovered that a sizable amount of work (of our regional langauges) from abroad is either outsourced or the artists are called over paying high travel & accomodation costs..

As a UK Based Studio Manager for a voice-over recording studio I'm looking at opening up our voice portfolio to include real time remote recording globally.

The problem is deciding which avenue to go down: ISDN or ADSL?

I am developing a mic preamp solution for myself specific to location ribbon mic preamp-amplification. Since there seems to be plenty of Royer enthusiasts in this forum, maybe I could layout my ideas and get some feedback. Anybody interested?

I'm going off to Stockholm to study after the summer vacation, so I plan on buying a decent laptop, a small MIDI controller and a pair of more portable monitors than the ones I have at home (15 kilos per speaker).

Anyone has tried any of these? You can buy a new one for about $999, which is cheap for macs. I have a G4 desktop which I use with Digital performer but I've been wanting a lap top to do remote recording and bring it back to my desktop. I just want to make sure there aren't any issues I should know about before I spring for one.

Yesterday was the first day of a five day remote recording session. This is a log of that session.

7 am Wake up get some breakfast

8 am Start checking over equipment for the start of the recording session. Check the software and the computer, check the microphones and the headphones, start getting together all the equipment needed for the recording.

I'm in the process of spec-ing a budget remote recording rig. I want to go with Pro Tools and I want to be able to record 16 channels simultaneously. I plan on running the Digi002 rack with a 1.5ghz Powerbook using the 002's ADAT input for my 8 additional channels. The idea of a small format digital mixer with an ADAT output is appealing but may be cost prohibitive.
