Hi there,

I'm starting to check for a place I can thrust to buy tube kits for my 2 x LA-610.
Affordable and good sounding (dreaming here ;))
They are both mk1 and were buildt around the same year but actually don't sound the same.
I guess they have different tubes or different wear on them.

Any suggestions ?

from what i gathered searching this site the tesla ec (forget model #) seems to be what i'm looking for, just wondering if anyone has some general suggestions/links as to the tonal tendencies of different preamp tubes.

I have an Aphex 107 manufactured in 1997 with a Phillips 12AT7 tube in it (the original). Any benefit swapping this tube out for another? If so, to what Brand and Type of tube?

I have had this ART Pro Channel in my studio for years now and I would like to breath some new life into it. I ordered and installed Ei 12AX7 Elites and TungSol 12AX7 [ NEW PRODUCTION] tubes only to find that both had issues. The Ei's had +17 dB noisefloor over baseline factory tube. The TungSol tube has a bad harmonic distortion at about 300hz.

Okay - so my beloved K2 is apparently having a problem with the factory tube. For the first 30 minutes of a session, it sounds fine. After that, the mic starts to get very thin and muffled to the point where it eventually stops receiving/sending signal at all.

So, I'm looking for a replacement but I'm not good at which tube can replace what with minimal problem.
