Hey everyone, been researching this last night and today.

The AT 4050 seems cool but I already have a multipattern mic(AKG perception 400)... so my main question is, is the 4040 the same thing just without multiple pickup patterns?

Plus, what is the general opinion of the T3 vrs the AT mics?

RODE k2 or Studio Projects t3, which should i buy ?

I can't decide on one or the other. I can get them for the same price. It will be used mostly for vocals. It will be a backup mic for acoustic guitar too.

I have a groove tubes brick preamps and m-audio octane.

I really can't decide on which would be a better sounding mic(setting my vocal style beside)

What would the best preamp be for the Studio Projects T3. I looking at speding 600-1000$$... and what about for the AT 4040...

Hopefully Alan can give me some insight on this as well...

I am wanting to get my first "nice" vocal condensor. And, it is really between these two mics at this point.

I have heard some great things done with the NTK, and I would have no hesitation on buying it.

Hey, has anyone used this mic? They claI'm it's perfect for vocals :roll: , so I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion or has some experience with this beast...
