Word is just out that Capitol Records is re-releasing the first 4 Beatles albums in their American versions, in a box set. This is volume 1 of a planned series of reissues. There will be mono & stereo versions of each album on each disc. No word if the box set will be regular 16/44.1 CD or SACD / DVD Audio. Sleeves within the box will be copies of the original sleeve art.
Included are "Meet The Beatles", "The Beatles Second Album", "Something New" & "Beatles 65". The songs released will be the versions with added reverb intended to make the songs more "American sounmding".
I always thought that the Beatles catalog was ready for remastering. I just hoped they would do it right. It appears that perhaps we are getting it only half correct. I wish that Capitol had rereleased the British LPs. I guess this is better than nothing. .

Agreed
Indeed,
Considering their position in (music) history, you'd think the Beatles should get more and better attention, especially with regards to how these rerelease things go.
Did they mention who would be remastering them?
