Hello,
why is on the Major releases no CD-Text added ?
Is CD-Text unusual or are there problems within?
I`m interessted because all my custumers want this.
(when i say them that would be possible)

I put CD text on everything - I have not run into problems. A major misunderstanding, however, is that folks think that CD Text means that track listings will show up in iTunes or WMP when a disk is inserted - and this is NOT the case. That info needs to be submitted to GraceNotes and other online CD database services.

I kinda dislike CD-TEXT. I think it adds little value and there's always the potential for things to go wrong. At least three times in the past six months clients have given me (and approved, I should add) incorrect CD-TEXT that has now been replicated into thousands of copies of discs. Either the album title got changed at the last minute or a track title was a working title instead of the final title, all of which was forgotten when the artwork was finalized. D'oh.
And all this just so that someone can watch track titles scroll by on their car stereo? In my opinion, not worth it... though it's always on the table as an option if the client wants it.

Yes it's a royal pain, BUT it almost always buys me about 4 days more time as everyone huddles to discuss the correct titles. Getting it from labels adds even more time. So all of those "rush" jobs are no longer rush. If you need even more time, bring up ISRC codes a day after you get the text.

A lot of major releases have CD Text. Some don't. Depends. Up until not so long ago most masters were delivered on 1630's which didn't support CD text.
