that is some serious gear. man would I like to be at that auction in person. shipping would probably be more than the gear for us though. Is it me, or is there a studio auction every week?
amazing to see what builds up in a place like that....everything
amazing to see what builds up in a place like that....everything from the SSL board to the leather couches to the microwave ovens....!!!!!
I'm surprised it wasn't all sold-off privately, but I guess there's a market for this type of sellout situation, just like any other biz.
And in spite of the lure, there's a lot of out of date (borderline useless?) stuff there, definitely some "collectors-only" gear. I'd love to bid on some of it though, but by the time we'd pay shipping over here, it's lost all its appeal, sadly.
Nice to see it all though, makes me feel a little better about some of the stuff I have around here. ;-)
the selection of mics is a frikkin' dream!

Yes it does seem like you see a studio auction about every week. Too bad that usually means that the the studio is going out of business and there is one less pro studio around. Some of these auctions seem to be full of older equipment which maybe the studio's way of selling off a lot of older stuff quickly. In the one that is happening in London it looks like the just closed and are selling off to the bare walls.
