Hello,
I am just wondering if anyone could help me out with the basic dynamic parameter settings here. The ratios. I got this Yamaha AW and i have never played around with the dynamic parameters or ratios before. When my recordings are done and i listen to the song it sounds like my vocals are like to thin/weak and behind everything else. Which is the most common ratio for recording vocals with? I am using a Vocal 300 for the doubler, delay and room effect...I am also running this through a vocal equalizer which is on board the Yamaha...Am doing too much here or something? Should i also check the dynamics i am using on my guitar crunch sound and slightly distorted bass? My music is sabbath type rock...Thanks for your time...

Yes i know. I have been lost when it comes to setting the ratios
Yes i know. I have been lost when it comes to setting the ratios. I have never done this but I finally figured them out for my drums, bass and guitars today just by listen and playing around on board the Yamaha...I am not so sure about the vocals yet though but i will try more tomorrow. I was getting close to what i liked when i was listen to all of my instruments together by setting the vocal ratio around, actually i tried a few different ones. They where; 2.5:1, 3:1 and 4:1 i believe. I am not so sure though about the attack and release times on the vocals yet though...
The only 'ratios' I know of are the ones you interpret the sound

That would be the synapses that are connected to those things on the side of your head.
Mixing music isnt done by sight though with the advent of the DAW and the screen a lot of people have gone to that.
