"Microline" polar pattern?

What is the "microline" polar pattern? Is it any good? Is it a Audio-Technica thing, or an industry thing?



How does this compare to Cardiod and hyper-cardiod?

MicroLine is just a diameter thing. 8mm vs 12mm in the UniLine series. I can see where their website would be confusing/misleading in that regard.



These are the interchangeable MicroLine capsules available:



OPTIONAL INTERCHANGEABLE ELEMENTS ESE-O omnidirectional (360°)

ESE-C cardioid (120°)

ESE-H hypercardioid (100°)





The UniLine is available up to 24" long, and it's the only one I know of. These are the capsules for UniLine series.

UE-H hypercardioid (100°);

UE-O omnidirectional (360°)
