Hi all,
I haven't posted here before, but hopefully somebody can help me out.

My band and I use a PreSonus Firestudio 26x26 to track demos and also as a software mixer when we practice, to avoid the hassle of setting up a PA. For monitors we just run wireless in ears out of the outputs, but for some reason we have a huge amount of noise in the signal doing this, almost to the point of making it completely impractical. We figured we'd get around the problem by buying a 4 channel headphone amp and all running headphones or wired in ears, so I began looking around for a suitable amp. I know what I want and I was very surprised to learn that none of the commonly known (to me at least) headphone amps do it!

What I want is:
4 channel headphone amp, rackmountable, each channel with its own stereo input. This would be better as a 2x mono than a single TRS, as otherwise I have to make up 4 Y cables. I also want this input to be on the BACK of the amp, so that I can just patch it all in in the rack and not have to unpatch and coil up 8 leads every time i want to put the lids on the case and take it somewhere else.

Does anyone know of such an amp?

Even better, does anyone know why we had such problems using wireless transmitters, and how we might go about fixing it?

Thanks in advance!

Your right its not really what you want, it has a bit more to it.... But you can do what I do and Have 5 or 6 of them, one for each member of the band to make there own custom mix. IT provides more ME for everyone....
What you want sounds like Samson Q5 its only half a rack though... but cheap. ;)

Getting the Millenium in AUS could be a challenge. I never saw those outside the Thomann shop. So here are some options:
1. Order the Millenium in Germany at Thomann and pay around € 50 extra shipping cost (resulting in around 144 AUS$ total, excluding anx taxes or duty or whatnot).
2. Check out the Samson S-Phone. Costs twice as much, much seems to meet your requirements as well.
3. Find the australian distributor...

This may be too late for you, but look at Rane headphone amps.

I currently run the 26 I/O in my studio, in conjunction w/ a Rane 6-ch amp this way:

Set up the mixes in the control console mix tabs.
Actual routing -
Mono out 1 - Rane Ch 1
Mono out 3 - Rane Ch 2

and so on...

This will only give you four separate mixes (as the analog outs are stereo pairs from the mix console), but should do what you want.
Now that I think of it, there may be a way to use the matrix router to send up to 8 mono signals out.

I think this is more in line with what you're looking for. Apparently a new cheapie from China but it's the first unit I've seen with a very straightforward design. Plus; they have a nice little demonstration video you can watch.
