Hi!
I'm thinking of moving to california to study, and wondered if any one could point me to a good collage with good engineering/producing courses.
I now study musictechnology here in Norway and have lots of engineering experience. but not enough :)
any one?

This is where I went. I graduated two years ago. The course is 11 months long and will prepare you for a career in the Recording industry. They have a fantastic program, great instructors, a great atmosphere and a stellar reputation. I have hade the chance to talk with people who went to other schools, and I can honnestly say that I have not found a single person that has recieved the type of education that I recieved.
I was hired to work in a very sucessfull post-production studio 3 months before I even graduated. This was also the case for 25 of the 60 people that graduated. After one year out of school, 100% of my class is employed somewhere in the recording industry.
As for me, I have been promoted above people that have worked there for 5 years, because of the knowledge that I have. I went from being a foley artist to the foley engineer in 3 months, and from there, I was promoted to supervising effects editor, and now I am also an assistant mixer.
I have also started my own recording studio on the side, so I could do the music thing too.
I know it's not in california, but this school is definately worth checking out, and they always have students from all over the world, so you won't be the only one.
