Hey Kurt,

I noticed in a post you did a couple of days back you got hold of the new JLM TMP8... I'm finally ordering my unit this Thursday- just wondering how you're finding the soft-limiters are working out, and the sound you're getting from them?

Thanks,
Jonathan

They are really cool. What is going on with them is, they are pre set at JLM. These were tailored to my DAW front end (Alesis AI3) via 8 mini plugs inserted into mini jacks located on the rear panel, so when the level approaches the clip point on the AI3's (+18dB) the limiters engage and give me additional gain I can push from the pres. The soft limiters remind me of the UV22 or the Prizimsound soft clip sort of. It really allows you to drive the snot out of the pres. Its a cool feature. the new TMP also has direct inputs on every channel

I am in the middle of tracking basics for a local bands CD release so after I finish up with them if they don't really suck, I may have some new and better clips to demo the JLM which I will post on NWR as mp3 and as always if anyone wants them on wave files they will be available through the mail for $5 S&H.
