the holes in the back of MOTU gear (828mkII) are too close together to allow Neutrik connecTRS to be used; they're too fat, you have to unscrew every other one or risk stressing the holes. Do neutrik do a thinner model that is known to work. what are y'all using?

Neutrik NYS202's (shorter), NYS224's (longer and more robust), NYS228's (3 cond.) all will fit. The larger and more expensive NP2C and NP3C will probably not. The largest speaker cable sized Nuetirk won't fit much but a more modern speaker cab. Check mcmione.com (800-543-4330).
their website still kinda sucks but the new catalog is worth obtaining.

Neutrik now makes a thinner version of their 1/4" plug, the NPX series. I suspect it will replace the older NPC series eventually. They seem to be selling through the stock of NPC in the channel, so the new ones can be a little hard to find. Full Compass stocks them.

I just bought a bunch for this same reason (although not MOTU - other interfaces are having the same issue), and am re-terminating my cables gradually. The TRS version is the NP3X, mono is the NP2X.

I still prefer Neutrik to all the others for their chuck mechanism, and this new slimmer plug still uses it. Highly recommeded. :D
