Hi,

I hope someone will be able to help me get my system up to snuff.

I have a P4 2Gig, 512 RAM, WinXP home system with a Maxtor 7200 drive seperate from my boot drive to which I only store audio.

I am using Sonar 2.1 XL and attempting to record 1 stereo and 4 mono streams from my Roland Studio Pack using it's WDM driver. No matter what buffer sizes I use, or where I slide the buffer slider (even to ridiculous lengths like 457 msecs of latency) I get the Sonar error that the disk may be full and it stops recording.

The disk has over 11 Gig available and Sonar recognizes this in it's disk window.

I have read about tweaking XP for recording digital audio and I have disabled all the things it says to disable. My machine is very vanilla at this point.

Does anyone have any suggestions to help me get my system recording well? Or at least can someone tell me that they have a similar PC and can get multiple tracks recorded simultaneously without problem.

In another forum someone suggested a faster audio drive. Is a Maxtor 7200 not good enough for what I am attempting to accomplish?

Any help that any kind person could provide would be most appreciated. I am near my wit's end.
