I have a Pro Tools set up and want to take a song which I have a WAV file and import it into Pro Tools. What I want to do is isolate the instrumental part of the song and burn a CD on just the 30 second instrumental. If there is a way, please note I am a beginner at this and would need step by step directions. Thanks.

I don't mean to sound like an ass ( although I surely will ), but it looks like you've been "a beginner at this" for 6 ½ years now. I find it hard to believe in that amount of time you haven't figured out how to cut and bounce and track, which is what you're describing. If I've misunderstood and you're trying to strip the vocals out of a track, leaving just the instruments, that's a separate process [[url=http://[/URL]="http://recording.or…"]discussed here many times[/]="http://recording.or…"]discussed here many times[/]. You'd find search results under 'removing vocals' or similar.
Best of luck.
