I am a newbie and want to purchase an entry level DAW program.
What programs allow you to sing notes to be recorded on an instrument track? I feel that I can create a new tune better by singing or whistling it than by picking out notes on a keyboard (because of inadequate keyboard skills).
I realise that I certainly can't get an accurate recording this way because of the difference between voice and discrete notes but it would be a way of getting something into the program to work with.
I also realise that this facility might not be found in entry level programs but I would like to know what more advanced DAW programs allow this.

It seems like Digital Ear is what I want. I'd previously looked at WAV to MIDI converters but only found the ones which merely convert sung WAV to sung MIDI.
So my question now is: Can entry level DAW programs like Sequel 2 import a MIDI file from Digital Ear? I assume so.
Then: Do any of the DAW programs have the built-in facility of this WAV to MIDI conversion of sung input to any instrument?
Don't know much 'bout this stuff but do mean something like this
