Heh, G, I'm in _exactly_ the same boat. Although, I've had a PowerBook the last couple of months, I'm looking for a new desktop machine as well. I'm having a hard time deciding on a G5 or one of the newly discounted dual boot / processor G4s.
The current machines are at least somewhat familiar.
No telling what your current hardware and apps will do on a G5.
I don't expect major problems, but for my business I'll wait until after January Macworld.
I picked up an iBook back in April. I'll probably stick an 800MHz upgrade in my box. Transition both machines to Panther, then I'll think about a new desktop.
