I want to buy a decent tube preamp to warm up my sound.
I'm looking at the ART Pro Channel and the Groove Tubes The Brick.
(my budget is around $350.00)
I'm going to be using this primarely for recording electric guitar direct but also for vocals. I'll be running my pedals through the tube pre into an ADA Microcab then into my emu 1212m.
feel free to recommend other preamps if you think both of these will suck with electric guitar.

this is not a transparent stuff but that is exactly what i like.
i process very diffrent signals thru it, mainly basslines and synths (mono:().
the cool thing is that u can tweak the gain and overdrive preamp section vith a very nice tube distortion. u can distort every section about 30 db each (!!!).
u will be happy

I also use the Pro MPA with good results. Tip: try swapping out the stock tubes with good quality NOS, and try different flavors. It comes with 12AX7's but a 12AT7 is popular for guitar sounds. I use a 12DF7 a lot for vocals, very warm.
