Has anyone Tried these headphones? Tape op had an advertisement for them and the big shots seem to like them a lot. Any thoughts or Review would be great. For as inexpensive as they are they could be a great investment for starters like myself on a low budget.

hondacrxdude13:
I have the ATH-M50's and a couple pairs of the Sony MDR-7506 (which I think are very nice headphones BTW) and I like the ATH-M50's better than the Sony's....I used to think the Sony's were pretty great until I listened to the AT's, which have better bass response than the Sony's by far and now when I use the Sony's they sound too bright...I have the AT's plugged into my RME FF800 for mixing and let everybody else use the Sony's (unless they demand "the bassier sounding ones").
There's no substitute for real monitors...still the way to go for mixing properly and getting good imaging, but if you need to track quietly or your making different comparisons these are very nice headphones for that price.
They're probably $60 better than the Sony's MDR-7506, but they each sound different....both are clear, but the AT's have more low end....alot people like the Beyerdynamic DT series (more expensive) and you might look into the Sony MDR-7509(HD) which are pretty nice too...I'm sure there will be others along shortly with other opinions on other cans!
I seriously doubt you would be disappointed with a set of those. 8-)
