so tonight I am recording some. never have before, but I do know thy are laugh as f**k and have a very distinctive low end hum to them.

I have a fairly long live room, with high walls.
I also have an iso booth thats around 8x10x8.

any tips?

Theres no way to tell you how to do these things. It either works or it dont...................

One thing......NEVER use your best mic or a ribbon on these. NEVER.

And pad the crap out of em......as well as compression. If you have a nice outboard compressor, it might just save ya.

well i have a few good compressors. a destressor, a few uries, and some other ones.
Its in my programs first year studio. I am returning a favor to some one who played on one of my sessions and helping record her families band.

Should i attempt to close mic it with a 57 or sm7? or perhaps a mic on the other side of the room?
