I borrowed a Portico 5012. intend to use it on electric bass, but it has no jack hi-z in. So, what is the best way to connect the bass to it... I have a BSS-133. could it be used, and how would the setup be to the UA apollo interface. A mic or line signal?

Yes, using a DI box into the mic (XLR) input would be the way to go, using an XLR-XLR cable. Switch the 48V phantom power on if you don't want to be forever replacing batteries. Be careful not to use too much gain, as you need plenty of headroom for fingered bass.
